My name is Anthony Burkitt, and I am from Melbourne Australia. Welcome to my Meccano page!
This site is a collection of various items to do with the Meccano system, invented by Frank Hornby in the first years of the 20th century. Much of this site is still under construction, but you are welcome to have a look around anyway!
Meccano is still made and sold today, though today it is owned by Nikko Corporation in Japan - probably best known for the Radio Control modelling market.
If you are looking for some details on the history of Meccano in England, then click here for a series of pages originally written by Graham Jost, telling of the beginnings of Meccano through to the demise of the Meccano company in the UK.
I'm a member of the Melbourne Meccano Club, which meets every two months - sharing recently built models, showing collectable items, and generally discussing all things Meccano.

The 2009 Melbourne Meccano Club Exhibition will be held on Saturday the 10th October and Sunday the 11th October at the Brighton Philatelic Society Hall in Gardenvale Road (Corner Magnolia Road), Gardenvale (Melbourne Victoria). Fill the car with petrol, book those aeroplane tickets, pack the kids, and plan to be there!

This section is "under construction", with many manuals still to be scanned, and there are still many gaps in the collection...
